News That Is Strange – Transplant Suicide

News about the weird and unusual things that happen in life, which is itself a weird and unusual condition, strikes me as somewhat redundant. That’s why you won’t see much of it here on Mood Vane. It is a bit odd to kick off my blog with News That Is Strange, a category that I don’t intend to feature, or even maintain. But that’s what I’m going to do. So, here goes.

This transplant double-suicide love triangle story from MSNBC about a heart recipient who married the donor’s wife and then shot himself, shedding his mortal coil in the exact same manner as the donor, is too strange to not pass along. It’s dramatic potential is positively cinematic…makes me think of the (likely unwatchable – well, I’d never watch it) Jessica Alba flick The Eye, a heartwarming tale about an eye transplant recipient who’s ocular enhancement has one bone-chilling side effect: it allows her to see into another, terrifying dimension. Crikey.

The only thing that could truly put this MSNBC story over the top is if the twice-expired heart gets passed on to yet another gun owner who ends up marrying the wife too.
